We zijn op zoek naar een ervaren bouwer voor Monk Hasselt. Je bent creatief, ambitieus en boulderen is wat je het liefst doet. We bouwen voor onze gasten en we zorgen dat zij boulderen net zo vet vinden als wij.

Boulders zijn onze core business. We doen er als bouwteam dan ook alles aan om ons hierin te onderscheiden. We bouwen vol gas en de hele week door, een 5 krijgt net zoveel aandacht als een 8B. 

De Job

Je bouwt de boulders van Monk. Je zorgt dat de boulders veilig en van hoge kwaliteit zijn. Je werkt in Monk aan de circuits en de lokale en nationale (België en Nederland) wedstrijden. Je komt ook af en toe op onze andere locaties om te bouwen.

Het huidige bouwteam bestaat grotendeels uit bouwers van Monk Eindhoven. We zijn bezig met het samenstellen van een bouwteam voor Monk Hasselt. Jij leidt dit team op en begeleidt hen. Veiligheid en kwaliteit staan hierin centraal. Daarnaast waarborg je de juiste variatie in het circuit. Samen met je bouwteam zorg je voor een strakke planning en een hoge standaard voor onze boulders.

Dit team bestaat uit liefhebbers van de sport, net als jij. Samen beoordeelt en waardeert het team alle boulders van Monk. Jullie zorgen ervoor dat onze gasten (ieder op zijn of haar eigen niveau) steeds weer worden uitgedaagd en verrast. 

Onze boulders zijn de basis van onze hal. Je neemt geen genoegen met mindere kwaliteit, samen met je collega’s zet je de standaard. Je kunt met een kritische blik kijken naar je werk en dat van je collega’s.

Monk

Monk opende de eerste Nederlandse bouldergym in 2008. Ondertussen zitten we in Hasselt, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Amsterdam en Hilversum. Een bedrijf in ontwikkeling.

Wat we zoeken

• Je klimt ten minste 7a 
• Je bent een ervaren bouwer
• Je bent serieus over een carrière als boulderbouwer
• Je weet hoe je een team aan moet sturen
• Je bent kritisch, kunt feedback geven en incasseren 
• Je spreekt Nederlands of Engels

/ Vacancy head setter Hasselt

We are looking for an experienced route setter for Monk Hasselt. You are creative and ambitious, and bouldering is your passion. We set routes for our guests, ensuring they find bouldering just as awesome as we do.

Boulders are our core business. As a setting team, we go the extra mile to stand out in this area. We set routes at full throttle all week long; a grade 5 gets just as much attention as an 8B.

The job

You set Monk’s boulders, ensuring they are safe and of high quality. You work on Monk’s circuits as well as local and national competitions (in Belgium and the Netherlands). You will also occasionally visit our other locations to set routes.

The current setting team consists largely of setters from Monk Eindhoven. We are in the process of assembling a dedicated team for Monk Hasselt. You will train and mentor this team, with safety and quality as top priorities. You also ensure the right variety within the circuit. Together with your team, you maintain a tight schedule and uphold high standards for our boulders.

This team is made up of enthusiasts who love the sport, just like you. Together, the team evaluates and grades all of Monk’s boulders. You ensure that our guests—at every skill level—are constantly challenged and surprised.

Our boulders are the foundation of our gym. You do not settle for anything less than high quality; together with your coworkers, you set the standard. You are able to take a critical look at both your own work and that of your team.

Monk

Monk opened the first Dutch bouldering gym in 2008. We now have locations in Hasselt, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Hilversum. We are a company that is constantly evolving.

What we’re looking for*

• You climb at a 7a level or higher
• You are an experienced route setter
• You are serious about a career as a bouldering route setter
• You know how to lead a team
• You have a critical eye and can both give and receive feedback
• You speak Dutch or English
